Well, I just managed to get back to a state where I can do models.
I chose to do a big scale F-15e given to me by a friend.
Of course, it gets ruined.
After spending many hours on cockpit assembly and trying my hand at "super" detailing (read: normal detailing) It came time to join the nose section halves. Joining went without problem, however, there were some blemishes along the seam line. I decided to fill those in with my new, White Squadron putty. What I didn't know is that the putty contains large amounts of Toluene, which, in addition to being extremely poisonous, also eats plastic. So, when I went to sand down the putty after it dried, it had completely melted large parts of the nose section, therefore ruining the entire model, and making all my effort put into the cockpit, which I was very proud of, completely worthless.
I'm considering buying another kit, but its a big kit, and very expensive. So, It might just have to be abandoned.
If anyone has any suggestions as to saving this, they are welcome.
DON'T USE SQUADRON PUTTY ON PLASTIC.
